OvaME™ aims to detect recurrence earlier and more accurately. It measures levels of patented DNA methylation markers in a blood sample by digital PCR.
The current blood test – CA125 – results in late detection, missed diagnosis, and may be elevated in unrelated non-cancerous conditions. Additionally >20% of patients will never have an elevated CA125 result despite a cancer diagnosis. CA125 leaves a lot of burden on clinical decisions. Current 5-year survival for ovarian cancer is only 35%.
Our mission is to supplement the current pathway of care, to improve accuracy, aid clinical decisions and improve the outcomes of women affected by this aggressive disease.
OvaME™ has shown >90% accuracy in detecting cancer signal. Even for stage 1, when the disease is hardest to diagnose.
